Safety First: Managing Participant Safety in Clinical Trials (AE & SAE in clinical trials). This short course is aimed at investigators, study coordinators, research nurses and any person in the clinical research team who is involved in the safety management of human participants in a clinical trial.

The focus is on applying principles in the field, and on the translation of policies and guidelines into practical steps. This is not only about the theory, but is approached from a ground level perspective. A number of real-life case scenarios are presented.

  • self-paced, online course on a dedicated and carefully designed e-learning platform
  • the course participant has 5 working days in which to complete the course from the time of activation.
  • can be completed all at once, or you can return and resume as many times as you need to
  • to get the most out of this course, we highly recommend that participants have completed prior GCP course.
  • your certificate can be downloaded immediately upon successful completion of the course
  • average completion time is likely to be between 1 and 4 hours in total
  • CPD points are organised through the HPCSA accreditation process
